Since joining Wawanesa, Scott has worked with the team to raise the profile and product offerings in the group benefits team. Scott will say he is a “claims guy” first – but that perspective lends well to a career that touches on most aspect of insurance, internally and externally, that in the end is all about a strong customer service philosophy built to preserve and protect the viability of a program – because in the end “We are the stewards of our customers premiums with a duty to pay claims responsibly and achieve rate stability”.  Throughout his career, Scott has an entrepreneurial spirit having started and run his own medical assessment and rehabilitation firms as well as some early claims technology start-ups including participating in the development of one of the first web-based cognitive screening tools.  Scott has been past president of industry associations and presented at The Society of Actuaries conference, Caribbean Insurance Conference as well as various governmental hearings on auto insurance reform.
