The Professional Young Insurance Brokers (PYIB) board subcommittee was created to help new brokers, provide engaging networking opportunities, accelerate careers, and develop the next generation of industry leaders. The PYIB subcommittee is open to all IBAA members who are 39 years old or younger, but all IBAA members in good standing are encouraged to join their events.
There are plenty of ways of taking part in the PYIB. These range from working directly on the PYIB board, working on a volunteer committee, attending events—whether social or educational, or attending our annual convention. Actively joining the PYIB as a board member is limited to those below the age of 40, but anyone can take part in PYIB events.
Events
The PYIB hosts a number of events throughout the year, both in the summer and winter. These include our annual sporting events like our golf tournament or curling bonspeil, as well as social events such as our Annual Conference, as well as trivia nights.

After an eight year hiatus and much demand to bring it back, PYIB's annual Conference has returned! The conference will be held each year in the fall, to compliment the IBAA's spring convention. All young brokers from around the province are welcome to join in the events. The conference will rotate between being hosted in Calgary and Edmonton.
The fall conference takes place over the course of two days, during which you can expect to take part in a number of education sessions, parties, a vendor trade show, as well as our main banquet dinner. During the banquet dinner we will host our Young Brokers Awards, where you can nominate yourself for a number of prizes.
