Dominique began her career working in the field, gaining hands-on experience in fire and property loss mitigation before progressing into roles including Contents Manager, Coordinator, and Project Coordinator. Nick has worked in the insurance and claim industry since 2005 with consultancies in both Canada and the UK prior to creating his own consultancy, Roper Valuation. He is keen to provide valuation and insurance expertise to companies, brokers and insurers to assist in the establishment of adequate limits and coverage, with a main focus on business interruption insurance. His knowledge of both insurance and accounting gives Nick the ability to bridge the gap between the two disciplines to ensure the risks and associated coverage are properly understood and addressed.

Nick proactively provides quantification services during both insurance claim and litigation processes across a variety of loss situations, coverage forms and industries. As both a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA CMA) Nick has a unique combination of expertise and experience in insurance related valuation and financial loss quantification.

He has led presentations on business interruption insurance to many brokerage groups, policyholders and associations across Canada.

Tamara has worked in the insurance and risk industry for over 24 years, holding roles with national insurers and reinsurers across Canada before moving into advisory.

As Vice President, Advisory at Roper Valuation, Tamara leads the Advisory division while also overseeing operations across the business. She is responsible for the continued development of advisory services and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery to brokers, insurers, and policyholders.

Her work focuses on business interruption coverage and limits analysis, helping brokers and clients navigate complex policy wording and align coverage with how a business operates. She is involved in projects ranging from straightforward BI reviews to more complex exposures including reinsurance and delay-related risks.

In addition to advisory work, Tamara leads internal operations, including process development, broker onboarding, and training initiatives, ensuring the business is structured to scale while maintaining a high standard of work.

Elio Alfredo Sarkees is a Business Development Manager at SGI CANADA, managing Broker Relationships across Southern Alberta and Eastern British Columbia. A Business Administration graduate with a major in Marketing, Elio brings over seven years of experience in the insurance industry, with a strong background spanning both the insurer and broker sides of the business. Known for his deep understanding of broker operations and his ability to build strong, lasting relationships, Elio has earned a reputation as a trusted industry partner. His experience includes personal and commercial lines, broker engagement, product launches, and strategic business development initiatives focused on driving growth and delivering value for brokers and stakeholders.

Jamie is a Commercial Account Executive at BrokerLink with six years of experience in the insurance industry. She graduated from the University of Calgary in 2020 with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance. After completing her degree, she joined BrokerLink’s Commercial Broker Trainee Program. Upon finishing the rotational program, she became a Commercial Insurance Advisor, and in 2024 she advanced into a mid‑market producer role.

Jamie earned her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in 2023 and received the Peter Rogers Award for Top Graduate across the Broker Division in Southern Alberta. She is currently pursuing her CAIB and CRM designations. In 2025, she was honored with the Rising Star Award from the Insurance Professionals of Calgary, recognizing impactful young professionals making meaningful contributions to the industry.

In March 2023, she joined the Professional Young Insurance Brokers of Alberta (PYIB) Board of Directors, initially serving as Chair of Communications. In her second year with PYIB, she became Events Chair, leading a highly successful events season highlighted by the revival of the PYIB Conference. In 2026 she was elected as the Vice President of PYIB and currently works in this role.

Beyond PYIB, she remains actively involved in the industry, regularly attending IPC, WICC, and IISA events. She has found a rewarding career and community within the insurance sector and is passionate about helping other young professionals discover similar opportunities.

Braden Bosch is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, known for visionary leadership and deep industry insight. As Founder and CEO of Modular Solutions, he draws on a track record of founding and scaling multiple insurance ventures, including both traditional and digital brokerages, MGA’s, premium financing, claims adjusting and InsureTech companies, giving him a firsthand understanding of the industry's operational and technological needs. That dual perspective informs Modular's innovative insurance software, which Braden and his team have successfully built and implemented for brokers, MGAs, and carriers. His career reflects a consistent focus on innovation, operational excellence, and solving complex industry challenges while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Braden studied business and insurance at Mount Royal University and has remained deeply engaged in the insurance community, being one of the first leaders of the Professional Young Insurance Brokers (PYIB) and serving as a former board member of the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta (IBAA). He has also been a member of the Entrepreneurs' Organization for 13 years.

Arla has 17 years of experience as an insurance and risk management professional, specializing in licensing governance, regulatory compliance, and acquisition integration across multi-jurisdiction environments. Arla has obtained the CIP, CRM, and Governance Professionals designations, she is the Vice Chair of the Alberta Insurance Council’s General Insurance Council, and currently represents BrokerLink as Designated Representative, National Ombudsperson, and Licensing Manager for Western Canada.

Darren Krywolt

Darren Krywolt is a third-generation insurance broker who’s spent over 30 years in the industry, with most of his career focused on marketing, sales, and building strong client relationships.

He got his start early, working in the family brokerage at age 12, and grew up around a business founded by his grandfather back in 1952. He earned his CAIB designation in 1996 and his CIP in 2005, combining formal training with real-world experience.

Darren was also an early adopter of digital tools, using Google and online resources well before they became standard in the industry. After two decades building his career, he took the leap in 2016 to start Krywolt Insurance Brokers, bringing together experience, relationships, and a simple focus on doing right by clients.

He believes success in this business comes down to consistency, curiosity, and being willing to step outside your comfort zone when the opportunity is there. Outside of work, he’s also a competitive pinball player, currently ranked in the top 200 in the world - proof that focus and persistence carry over into just about everything he does.

Crystal Lanz is the President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta (IBAA) and a proud champion of Alberta's independent broker community. With more than 25 years of industry experience, she is known for her approachable leadership style, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for building strong relationships. As the Owner of Lakestone Insurance Brokers in Sylvan Lake, Crystal leads a team dedicated to delivering personalized insurance solutions with integrity, expertise, and a genuine commitment to client care.
