Did you know that an error determining a person's auto Grid step could result in a huge premium difference? A 5% premium reduction for each Grid step up to -10 and a 23% increase for each Grid step above the entry level could make an enormous difference for clients. If a client was incorrectly placed on the Grid when the Grid was implemented, and renewals took that Grid step as the correct placement for that past year, then years of premiums could be at stake. Learn how to calculate anyone’s Grid step accurately and how to best assign drivers to vehicles while considering the Grid. You will also gain insights on how the newly implemented DCPD will impact your clients' Grid rating.

Topics covered:

  • Relevant date, what is it, and why is it important?
  • Relevant driver, occasional driver, and experienced driver—what is their relevance
  • The criteria used to determine the Grid step
  • The Grid, how to calculate it, where to find it.
