Join us on April 10th from 9:00 to 11:00 am via webinar as we vote on the new board, amend the bylaws, and reflect on the past year. Click the button below to register. See below for the full IBAA 2024 AGM Agenda.
Matters for the agenda or resolutions should be sent to Chief Executive Officer Jhnel Weller-Hannaway on or before the start of the AGM by email (jwellerhannaway@ibaa.ca), or by post (IBAA, 103, 9830 42 Avenue, Edmonton, T6E 5V5). New items cannot be added during the AGM.
Since the number of nominations meets the number of positions open on the board of directors this year, the candidates will be elected by acclamation during the AGM; however, a vote will be necessary to determine who occupies the one-year vacancy. View the candidate bios below.

As an item of business during the meeting, the IBAA Board of Directors will put forward a motion to make a series of amendments to the IBAA Bylaws. IBAA AGM 2024 Candidate Bios - Directors
Nicole Boyer
Nicole has worked in the Insurance Industry for 21 years in Alberta and British Columbia. Nicole obtained her CAIB designation and Level 2 licenses in both provinces.
For the first 8 years of Nicole’s career, the primary focus was on personal insurance. Her next 10 years the primary focus was working as a Commercial Account Manager on mid-sized commercial accounts. Nicole expanded her career in 2021 accepting a position as a Branch Manager for the Personal Lines - Outbound team. As of Jan 3, 2023, she has moved roles back to her roots accepting a role as Branch Manager – Commercial Lines and is managing part of the Commercial Account Managers here in the Foothills Region. In addition to that, Nicole for the last 2 years has sat on the Alberta Insurance Council Appeal board.
Nicole emphasizes the importance of ensuring we are providing top-notch service and coverage to our valued customers. She has a unique ability on building long-term relationships with clients, underwriters and brokers alike. Listening, learning and then providing solutions has fueled Nicole’s success. Nicole is a fun loving, caring individual, an excellent listener and generous and compassionate in nature. She is a pleasure to work with and is a trusted mentor to her co-workers. Nicole is always helping improve our office and is a true ambassador and a valued member of Brokerlink’s organization.
Sandra Couturier
Sandra started in the insurance industry in 2005 with CJ Campbell Insurance Edmonton with no prior industry experience and no idea of the impact of the independent insurance broker. Insurance quickly became her passion, pursuing education with a never-ending thirst for knowledge and consistently trying to be as informed as she can be in the ever-changing landscape of insurance in Alberta. Sandra moved from an assistant to a producer to a partner and manager before taking over the role of president in 2023. The constant with every new role is her dedication to ensuring our clients are receiving the best advice and insurance products to suit their needs, whatever that may be, at whatever stage of life they are in. She believes that the relationships we make with our clients are the backbone of our business and looks forward to continuing to build these and being a part of the independent broker channel.
Lex Engel
After getting into insurance almost 10 years ago Lex has not looked back. While she loves the daily challenges insurance brings, she loves the people she meets more. She joined the PYIB after an amazing manager recommended she take her not so inner insurance nerd and channel that passion for good use. (Okay we’re paraphrasing, but the sentiment is there). After her stint on the PYIB took her through VP, President and Past President she took a few years off to focus on family, friends and health and furthering her education but is back in force.
Lex loves to camp and fish in the summer with her corgi cross Marco (who she fully admits, with bias is the cutest dog). She also loves to quilt, sew, and garden and spending time with her family and friends.
